Uh oh. Was I supposed to already know what cookies I might bake for the holidays? š¤ š I have bookmarked the beautiful cookie series you did for the New York Times a few years ago and refer to it often. These cookies look like a š as well.
That new crunchy pecan cookie recipe is on my agenda for tomorrow! I love āshortbread adjacent!ā Those chocolate cherry pecan biscotti are so delicious that theyāve been requested again this year. As for your new book, my motto is āgood things are worth waiting for.ā Thanks so much.
I was just in the town of Winters, CA and it is a pure agriculture town - where pistachios, pecans, and walnuts are grown everywhere. I just picked up a fresh bag of pecans!! This recipe sounds like a mix of great textures and techniques, perfect with a cup of tea. (BTW this year's NYT cookie week is SAD as compared to your featured cookies from a few years ago so I'm starting with this recipe for my cookie month :-)
Just made these they are amazing, so delicious! I have never made a praline it was so easy and make these cookies so special. Thank you Susan! Up there with my other 2 favorite cookies of all time, her Cashew Butter and Honey cookies and her Pecan Chocolate Chip!
Have just made these, they are incredibly delicious and special with the praline (have never made a praline before so easy!). Everyone loved them. Like all Susan's cookies, they are above and beyond the rest! These are up there with my other 2 favorite cookies of all time, her Pecan Chocolate Chip, and her Cashew Butter and Honey cookies (those are sublime). I just made a list of all Susanality cookies for my upcoming holiday cookie party!
It's very hot where I live (Australia) so not everyone feels the need to bake cookies at this time of the year. But I personally love to bake cookies as gifts for my friends at Christmas (perhaps I am mad) and I'll be trying your crunchy praline cookie recipe. They look divine.
Thank you so much! Your cookies are always the stars of my annual cookie boxes. I'm eagerly awaiting the release of your cookbook next year! No one compares.

Another winner! So crunchy and delicious. You are my go-to cookie maven, and you are appreciated.
Thank you Jackie! How did I not think of Cookie Maven for my book?
There is always the next book! I love having you in my kitchenā¦
Hi Susan! Is it really two TEAspoons of butter in the praline? About to make these for my cookie box and just want to make sure. Thank you!!
Hi Kalea- Yes, it's correct. It's just there to add a little flavor and softness! I hope you enjoy!
