Great recipe! I baked it for Rosh Hashana and the tahini frangipane in between the apples was a great success!

Gah! I just put this tart in the oven and realized that the whole beaten egg, while in the ingredient list, is not included in the instructions and my suspicion is it was meant to go into the Frangipane. I have a feeling my lovely Rosh Hashanah tart is going to be a soggy, greasy mess. Hopefully that will not bode ill for the new year.

I'm so sorry Lisa. The egg should go in the frangipane

I wonder if I can sub half of the tahini or all with a pistachio paste I bought recently? tahini sounds like a good combination bit pistachio paste also sounds good!

I think you should be able to make that sub. As you'll see above, the egg should go in with the frangipane ingredients!

I’m not a huge tahini fan but my husband is so putting this on the to-bake list! Questions: what is your fave tahini brand? And I’m assuming another crisp apple would work here? My CSA boxes have overflowed with Gravenstein and other Sonoma County grown apples.

Yes, any apple should work! I like Seed & Mill and Soom, They both are delicious with almost no bitterness. Make sure to add the listed egg in with the frangipane ingredients! There was an omission in the recipe.
