If you need another store bought pesto, I find the Gotham Greens pesto to be amazing. There are vegan and spicy versions, but the classic is always delicious. I highly recommend it. I haven't tried the one you mention, but I think GG is as good as homemade.

From one island girl to another, this is a gorgeous tribute to summer, vegetables, and relaxing.

And now I know what to do with the string beans in my veg drawer...

The clam chowder sounds yummy..unfortunately my husband is allergic to fresh clams but can eat canned clams??..so how many canned clams would you use or would the recipe work with shrimp or some other fish?

Hi Carolyn- I'm not sure of the equivalents offhand, but I'm sure you could find it by googling. Shrimp would be nice too, but you won't have the powerful claim broth. You could use chicken or fish stock instead or maybe make mussel stock/chowder if he's not allergic?

I love RANA pesto!!! I’ve been buying it for years it’s better than my homemade pesto, it’s great on pasta and sandwiches and added to salad dressings I can’t live without it! I also love green beans with pesto and pasta. I will try it with hazelnuts this weekend!

Fire Island is a very magical place - I've been going to Saltaire since I was a child. My great grandparents on my mom's side built a house there in the late 20's, my dad's side in the early 60s, and they met there in 1968!
