'Sesamaniac' is a word that describes me perfectly... these look beautiful as they are but do I dare make these with black tahini (we just got some to make your marbled tahini cookies)?

My lovely dark gray dough is chilling now - just wanted to let you know there is a typo in step 2 (baking powder was omitted). I realized a bit too late in the process but whatever happens it will taste amazing! Love the aniseed and orange zest aromas coming together.

Ooh- I'm so sorry about that! Thanks for letting g me know. They will probably still be OK because of the eggs but I will issue a correction.

Just ate my first one - delicious Italian flavors sneaking through with the sesame, zest and subtle aniseed, and just the right amount of sweet for me. Without the baking powder I didn't get the dramatic fissures exposing the gray cookie within but not a problem! They will disappear quickly... thanks for the recipe!

Again, I appreciate the heads up on the omission! I was a little distracted by Paris and didn't write or read as carefully as usual!

I’ve had a similar Greek cookie. But they are kind of blah. Adding tahini sounds like a great idea. I may be baking this weekend.

Apparently there's a typo. I didn't say when to add the baking powder!
